If you are transferring your domain registration to another registrar
(away from Yahoo!) and your new registrar asks for an authorization
code, Yahoo! cannot provide this code to you. In order to retrieve
your
code, we will need to release your domain name to our partner
registrar,
Melbourne IT.
In order for us to process your request and release your domain name to
our partner, Melbourne IT, you must first cancel your account with
Yahoo! Domains.
To cancel your Yahoo! Domains account please log into Yahoo! Small
Business at http://smallbusiness.yahoo.com/ and follow these steps:
2. Log into your account with your Yahoo! ID and Password.
1. Click the "My Services" tab.
3. Select Change Plan by clicking on the "change plan" link.
4. On the top-left, click the "Cancel Service" link.
5. You will need to read the disclosure and click the link "cancel my
service".
6. You will need to confirm your decision by clicking on the link
"confirm cancellation".
When the cancellation is complete you will receive a cancellation
complete message.
After the release of your domain name from our reseller list, you will
receive an email with the required registry key. This email will be
sent to the Administrative Contact email address, listed for your
domain
name, on the "WHOIS" database.
(Please note, transferring your domain away from the service does not
terminate your service.)
The following conditions/restrictions apply to cancelled domains:
- Your domain name and started web page/forward function will no longer
function.
- You will be responsible for all domain name renewal fees.
If your domain was registered through Yahoo!:
- Cancelling this service will end your ability to manage this domain
through your Domain Control Panel.
- You may not transfer registrars until 60 days after first registering
your domain, in accordance with ICANN rules.
- To transfer your domain to another domain registrar, ask your new
registrar to initiate the process. Although your provider may ask for
your registry key, it is not required to complete a transfer.
- If you do not transfer, you will be contacted by Melbourne IT (MIT),
our domain partner when your domain is due for renewal.
Prior to cancelling your Domains service, you may want to save a copy
of
your starter web page. It will no longer be accessible once you cancel.
Once you cancel your Yahoo! Domains account, your domain name will
remain registered to you.
