Verisign 真的是搶錢啊!

VeriSign 擺明就是要在 域名 的事業上賺錢 -

我猜測, 在 VerSign 把持 域名 管理權的時日裡
(VerSign 跟 ICANN 簽訂的合約期限之內)
至少還會有一兩次的 價格調漲;
大家拭目以待吧!

Verisign Domain Names Prices Increase 2010

All .com and .net domain names by Verisign are having their prices increased as from today 1st July 2010. If you waited for today to buy your new domain, then you will have to spend up to 10% more on your new domain irrespective of the registrar being used.

This increase in pricing will affect all registrars (Godaddy, Name or Namecheap). The actual price that a registrar pays to Verisign for a .com domain name was [COLOR="rgb(139, 0, 0)"]$6.86[/COLOR] and onward the new wholesale price of a .com domain to Verisign will be at $7.34 – This is a 7% increase.

Verisign domain .net wholesale price was at [COLOR="rgb(139, 0, 0)"]$4.23[/COLOR] and the new price will be at $4.65 that is about 10% increase in price. Note that the prices mentioned above are the prices which your registrar actually pays to Verisign to register the domain. The price which YOU pay will be higher since you need to take the prices above + your domain registrar profit.

For instance, Godaddy’s usual price for a .com domain name is $10.69 and with the new price a .com domain will now costs $11.44 + $0.18 (icann fee). Well, you will always find domain name promo codes which will of course enable you to save some bucks but it depends whether the registrar is actually having a promo offer when you will be needing the domain.

By the way, we do post Name.com promo codes on a monthly basis here. We’ll be adding Godaddy domain promo codes soon too. Well, last night Name.com gave out a really amazing promo where you were able to buy a .com or .net domain for only $5.99 – That was a last time offer before July 1st. Those who didn’t miss it, that’s good as the offer just ended about 1 hour ago.

On our side we renewed our domain some days ago to save some bucks before this price increase and even bought some other domain names which we will be targeting in the coming months.
